Mangement

 

Manager - Derek Sweetman

Derek took over as manager at the club in July 2010, succeeding Jason Andrews in the role. Derek has a vast knowledge of local football and has a great desire to gain promotion for this coming season.

Before his appointment Derek was no 2 at Didcot Town, previously to this he was at manager Slough Town.

Dereks debut season could not have gone any better, leading the team to the Hellenic Div 1 East title, The Floodlit Cup and The Challenge Cup

 

  Assistant Manager - Kevin Carvell

Kevin joined in July 2010 after 22 years at Marlow United. Kevin guided Marlow United from the Reading League to the Hellenic Premier and also competed in the FA Cup. Kevin will be looking to use his knowledge and enthusisim to help Holyport this coming season.

Kevin was a major part of the treble during 2010/11 season, his experience at the Hellenic level helped guide Holyport to the title along with the two Cups to make up a historic treble.

 

 

Coach - Calvin Maye

Calvin joined up with Holyport in July 2010, Calvin has coached at Slough Town, Burnham and Didcot. A highly qualified coach, Calvin is educated to his UEFA A coaching badge and is a real asset to the coaching staff.

Has made a massive difference to the squad in his first few months, his training sessions are first class.

Calvin's enthusiasm and fantastic coaching methods help Holyport become best drilled side in the league last season.

 

 

Physio - Dave Jones

Everyone at the club loves Dave, a great person to have at the club and kept the players massaged and taped up all season.

Also helps Jason with the pitch - a great asset.

Goal Keeper

  Goal Keeper - Kyle Bradley

Spent last season at Bracknell Town FC, after spending the summer at Windsor and Eton FC Kyle signed for Holyport after our first league game and made his debut in our first ever FA Cup game away to East Grinstead.

Goal Keeper - Carl Dennison

Joined Slough at just as a 19-year old from Flackwell Heath.  Kept goal for the second half of the 2006/07 season at Slough and put in a number of impressive displays.

Has since had successful spells with Beaconsfield SYCOB FC with an impressive run of clean sheets towards the end of the 2010/11 season.

Made his debut for Holyport against Ardley, made a series of impressive performances over the Xmas period away to Flackwell Heath and Thame United.

 

Goal Keeper - Warren Carter

'Wazza' rejoined in September after spending pre season with Burnham and AFC Totton.  Joined Holyport at 16 years old and has progressed into a good keeper.

His kicking and shot stopping are second to known - a great addition to the squad.

Defence

 

Defender - Tristan Heywood

Tristan was signed in March of last season and his experience at a higher level gave Port a much needed boast that helped Port clinch the treble.  Tristan formed a great partnership at the back alongside Rolfie. 

 

 

 

Defender - Dan Bailey

Spent last season at Maidenhead United Reserves and captained the side as they made an impressive start to life in the Hellenic League. 

Dan was also a member of QPR Reserves and also had trials with Wycombe Wanders.  Made an impressive debut against Slough Town during pre season.  One to watch as the season goes.

Defender - Lee Ovens

Took over the captains arm band towards the end of the season and led the side to the historic treble.  A dependable defender who joined from Marlow United in December 2009.  Lee made 34 appearances last season but failed to get on the score sheet.

Defender - Ross Crawford

Ross signed from Chalfont Wasps following pre season with Flackwell Heath.  A great ball winner and has a fantastic never say die attitude.  Good in the air and likes to play out from the back.  Debut was away to Flackwell Heath.

A great addition to the side.

 

Defender - Steve Deverall

A young promising left sided player.  Steve has the ability to beat players with his speed and close control at ease, at only 19 years old he has been part of the first team for three years already.  Although very young Steve is learning from the more experienced players around him.

  Defender - Ryan Britnell

Joined at the beginning of 2010/11 season and played 34 games for Port at left back.  A strong defender who is consistent in his performances and scores the odd goal.  Ryan collected the player’s player award for his displays during last season’s campaign.

Defender - Matt Rolfe

Rolfie joined towards the end of the 2009/10 season.  Matt scored 6 goals in 30 appearances last season, the majority of these from centre back.  Towards the end of the season he played some of his best football as he partnered Heywood at centre back.

Midfield

  Midfield - Stuart Butler

Stuart joined Holyport back in 2006/07 and has made 42 first team appearances whilst scoring 6 goals.  Stuart was the Reserve team captain as the club claimed their first ever Hellenic League cup competition.  A midfielder who has an eye for a pass and a great set piece delivery.

  Midfield - Jack Jeffries

Jack joined Holyport half way through last season.  Jack adds composure to Holyport’s midfield and adds a great link between midfield and attack.  Jack made 17 appearances last season and scored his only goal against Newbury which helped sealed their promotion to the Premier Division.

Also completed the treble with Beaconsfield SYCOB a few seasons ago.

Midfield - Dan Rapley

Rappers made 28 appearances last season and scored 9 goals.  Dan has 138 Holyport appearances to his name along with 49 goals since joining in 2006.  A direct winger who can also play upfront if required.

Loves to get at the full backs and will test most teams this season.

Midfield - Lee Jerrum

Lee joined in 2008 after being released by Brentford FC, since then he has gone on to make 100 appearances and score 23 goals.  No goals have been more important than his brace which helped secure the Challenge Cup.  Lee played in every game last season and went on to be awarded the managers player of the season for 2010/11.

  Midfield - Sam Jones

Jona has been at Port for years, a fitness freak and pure club man.  Jona had a stop start season last year as injuries kept him out, meaning Sam only made 23 appearances.  With 140 appearances he is the 2nd most capped Holyport player since joining the Hellenic League.

Midfield - James Flint

Flinty can play either midfield or up top and adds some 'bite' to the side.  Scored a Messi like goal in last seasons Hellenic Floodlit Cup Final against Abingdon to secure the 3-0 victory.

Will be looking to score more goals this season.

 

Midfield - Callum Coull

Callum signed last season but did not feature for Holyport.  A strong player who will add competition across midfield.

Previously with Flackwell Heath, Marlow United and Chalfont Wasps.

Midfield - Ben Sturgess

Ben signed from Flackwell Heath in October where he made 102 appearances in three seasons and scored 16 goals. He is also dual registered with Slough Town who play in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central.

Sturgess featured in their pre season campaign. He can play in either full back position and also in midfield.  Scored his first goal for Port away to Kidlington

 

Midfield - Alan Ackerman

Returns after spending the start of the season at Penn & Tylers.  Ackers will be looking to add to his 70 apperances and 8 goals he has for the club.

Alan has a good touch and good vision, will bring options going forward.

   

Midfield - Lee Hawkins

Lee rejoins Holyport after spending the season with Cookham Dean.  Lee last played for Holyport in 2009/10, a naturally gifted player with plenty of tricks and a good left foot.  Can also play upfront.

Forwards

  Forward - Jamie Handscomb

Jamie originally played 4 games for Holyport in the 2002/03 season but re joined in 2008/09 from Burnham FC, he has made 85 appearances whilst scoring 56 goals.  A direct player who is full of pace and a never say die attitude.  JH scored 21 goals last season to claim the clubs golden boot.  Jamie claimed the Hellenic Div 1 East player of the season in 2009/10.

  Forward - Jamie Wright

Jamie joined Holyport when he was 16 years old during the 2004/05 season and has scored 24 goals from his 109 appearances.  Jamie has been working hard during the off season, and this has shown as looks as fit and sharp as he ever has.  A player who gives his all and adds another dimension to Ports forward line.
