Champagne Moment
Though bowing out of th FA cup at the innaugural attempt the honour of being Holyports first ever goal scorer in the FA Cup was bestowed to Jamie Wright.
Jamie (now 23) also has the record of being the youngest player to play for the club making his debut at their old ground, Braywick Park, at the tender age of 15, an achievement that will not be surpassed while the current minimum age for registration is 16.
While warming up as a substitute at Larges Lane Roger Coombs of club sponsors Thakrar Coombs promised him a bottle of champagne if he scored the first ever goal, Jamie must like a drop of fizz as he obliged with a bullet header, his first contribution to the match, within a minute of entering the fray.
The picture attached sees Wright collect his momento from Roger Coombs prior to Bank Holiday's game against Ardley United.
Well done Jamie!!!
